This site is built for English readers. Each quotation appears in a carefully checked English rendering—never in Greek, Latin, Sanskrit, or other source languages as the primary text. Source notes remain for context, but the encounter itself stays in English.
Editorial method
The corpus is a verified selection: attributions checked, wording aligned with reliable sources, and passages chosen for clarity and lasting insight. Political slogans, opaque jargon, and misattributed sayings are excluded. Each entry records thinker, school, source, and theme.
Browse beyond chance
After a random encounter, continue by thinker or theme. The random view is an entrance, not a limit.
Editorial standards
Attribution and wording follow our editorial policy and sourcing method. Theme pages keep only substantial collections; sparse labels are merged into stronger canonical themes.
